Destination Deaflympics Delivers Workforce Training
43% of deaf children participate in no physical activity at all and can experience social isolation. The Destination Deaflympics programme aims to change that by raising activity levels of deaf children aged 8-16.
As well as providing deaf schools, deaf resource bases and community clubs with resource packs of activities for deaf young people, Destination Deaflympics also offers funded Disability and Inclusion Training to deliverers of the programme, be they Teachers of the Deaf, Deaf Instructors, volunteers. club or school staff.
Recently UK Deaf Sport partnered with Disability Sport Wales to deliver some of this free training to local workforce.
'Becoming inspired by Deaflympics and the DeaflympicsGB Team will raise aspirations and contribute to deaf children leading active lives.'
